Dancer. Performer. Arts Educator.

Originally from Houston, TX, Isabel Wallace-Green began dancing at Houston Ballet Academy where she trained for nine years. While at HBA, she studied with Cheryne Busch as her primary instructor and gained performance experience at downtown Houston’s Wortham Theater. She later expanded her dance training at St. John’s School under the direction of Victoria Arizpe before attending Fordham University/The Ailey School in NYC.

Isabel graduated summa cum laude with a dual degree BFA in Dance and African/African American Studies with Departmental Honors. She has attended intensives at Boston Ballet School, Dance Theatre of Harlem, Abraham.In.Motion, Galen Hooks Method, and Rockettes Summer Intensive Invitational. Isabel has performed works by choreographers Kyle Abraham, Alvin Ailey, Ephrat Asherie, Hope Boykin, Chanel DaSilva, Darrell Grand Moultrie, Rennie Harris, Christopher L. Huggins, Miro Magloire, Virgine Mécène, Elisa Monte, Earl Mosley, Milton Myers, Elizabeth Roxas-Dobrish, Matthew Rushing, Leyland Simmons, and Tommie-Waheed Evans. Isabel performed Alvin Ailey’s Memoria with Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater during two seasons at New York City Center. She was an Ensemble member of the Radio City Christmas Spectacular and has performed with Urban Souls Dance Company and New Chamber Ballet. Isabel danced with DBDT:Encore! for six months before joining Dallas Black Dance Theatre in 2021. In 2023, Isabel returned to New York City to join Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater where she is currently a company member.

Isabel has taught Ballet, Pointe and Creative Movement while on faculty at Chamberlain School of Ballet (Dallas), SMA Dance Academy (Harlem), WR Arts (Brooklyn), Create A Spark (Houston) and served as a Teacher’s Assistant at Houston Ballet Academy and The Ailey School Junior Division. She was commissioned to choreograph on West University Performing Company and St. John’s School in Houston. In 2022, Isabel curated a three week summer internship program, working one-on-one with two high school students to expand exposure to performing arts careers.

Holding a second degree in AFAM studies, Isabel’s passion is rooted in the intersection of art and social justice. She seeks to perform and work in spaces that advance inclusion, accessibility, and representation within the performing arts. In accordance to her fascination with black identity, history, and culture, Isabel premiered her first solo show entitled “Resilience,” presented by University of Houston’s Blaffer Art Museum and The University Museum at Texas Southern University in response to Jamal Cyrus’ exhibit The End of My Beginning. Additionally, Isabel enjoys drawing portraits that explore these themes in her spare time.
